A Warrior Queen has made her transition…

Wangari Muta Maathai (1 April 1940 – 25 September 2011) was a Kenyan environmental and political activist.
Wangari Maathai was a Woman who would not Give Up! She fought for what she believed in and made a lasting contribution to this world. I am Inspired by Women who make and leave a legacy for others to aspire to. A modern day Harriet Tubman, Ida B.Wells, Sojourner Truth. Wangari Muta Maathai, is now one of our ancestors…Rest in Power!

It’s great to hear of others that continue to build the way for us. We usually recognize those that have long gone, which makes the recognition for Wangari Maathai more special. I too am inspired by women who leave long lasting legacies for us to past down to our people. Peace and thanks for the post!

    • Yes, people don’t realize that there are so many women of color who are modern day Harriet Tubman’s and Queen Nzinga’s. We have to remember that our work needs to have an impact in whatever way we can contribute to the betterment of the future. Women like her should remind us of what we CAN do. Thank You for your comment!

  2. Beautiful soul! Thank you so much for sharing this. ~love and light~
